The Second Invasion of Dragonsharp

Sometimes during the many alterations of the space-time continuum that our adventurers have to do, things go wrong. When it does they end up in some strange times and places. We have provided some links above so that you can see what happened when they became involved in what was going on when they by chance they "landed" in a strange place and strange time !

The Second Invasion of Dragonsharp: An Event in 2014

The Outskirts of Dragonsharp - at peace!

On the 20th August 2014, four years after the initial events in Dragonsharp, members of the Troupe managed to get themselves teleported once again, to the region around Dragonsharp, a town in the Desert Lands of Mycretia.

What was particularly intriguing was that the time in which they arrived was just one month after they had found themselves embroiled in the previous sequence of events that took place in Dragonsharp. That year was around 4335 or 6.

On the first occasion that our troupe landed there, forces of the City State of the World Emperor (CSWE) had invaded and taken control of the town. The Mycretian residents had invoked the Treaty of Lakenheath, which committed several regions, including the City State of the Invincible Overlord, and Barbarian Altanis, to mutual defence in case of hostile attack.

On this occasion, the troupe heard that several significant changes had taken place in the situation:

First, the forces of the CSWE had somewhat lost control of the town, and were gathering between the village of Wortess and and the border of Dragonsharp town, planning a repeat takeover attempt, and a rescue of the town mayor.

Second, the leader of the Barbarian Altanis troops, Lord Semlicious, who was believed to have been killed in the battle one month earlier had actually survived after suffering a loss of consciousness and other serious injury.

Forces from Barbarian Altanis, once again under the command Lord Semlicius rendez-vous'd with detachments of Mycretian forces under a new local commander, Zenghis of Ell Bastis, whom Semlicius respected considerably more than the previous Commander, who was killed in the previous battle. Semlicius had the same objective with which he had been charged previously, namely to arrest the corrupt local Mayor, Pragnok and deliver him to justice, dead or alive, to Barbarian Altanis.

Semlicius and Zenghis marched their troupes towards Dragonsharp, but soon observed in the distance that there was a significant contingent of CSWE troops ahead.

They decided to position themselves on the bridge, as that was a good position to hold, and could be defended.

CSWE bowmen and archers proved to be a serious irritant until Zenghis managed to throw a firebomb into them, destroying all but one.

A long battle commences
...
It was plain that whomsoever finally took control of the bridge would gain access to Dragonsharp, and so the two sides bedded down for a long battle.

Villagers from Dragonsharp to the south also fought some of the CSWE troops valiantly, although they had neither the weaponry nor the armour of the professional soldiers of the CSWE.

There followed a long and difficult battle on the bridge, with the CSWE and the Mycretian forces both suffering steady losses.

The final stage of battle nears
 ...

Semlicius fights the mayor and the few
remaining CSWE forces
Somewhat unbeknown to the Mycretian side, the mayor was initially to be smuggled out of the area in a covered wagon, but this plan failed when a horse was killed.

Finally, as the mayor came out of the wagon and tried to cross the bridge, there was a battle between Semlicius, as the only remaining Mycretian on the bridge, and the mayor, who was assisted by the few remaining CSWE soldiers.

Semlicius died in that battle, and the mayor escaped.
